Our firm aggressively engages the local Assessor’s Offices and Boards of Review with information we believe is pertinent and helpful to establishing a fair assessment through assessment reduction complaints and hearings, if necessary. We analyze market data, income generated by the property, sales, vacancy rates and other important information to determine the appropriateness of proposed assessments and available options for reducing the assessment. We have extensive experience advocating for reduced property tax assessments for the vast majority of property types.
Our attorneys are prepared to appeal decisions to the next administrative level, the Circuit Courts or the Property Tax Appeal Board. We continue to monitor our clients’ assessments for each tax year, constantly evaluating the fairness and potential to reduce current assessments.
Although, Cook County is on a 3 year cycle which most properties are reassessed every three years. This does not always apply to commercial/industrial property. We review your assessed value yearly to determine if the market or other factors may reduce your assessed value.
Please contact our office to discuss your assessed value and ability to file a property tax appeal.
